FAQs

Below we have detailed the most commonly asked questions about us, our service and about Paintless Dent Removal in general.

This video gives you a bit more information about PDR:

What is ‘Paintless Dent Removal’ (PDR)?

Paintless Dent Removal is the repair of vehicle body panels without the need to fill or respray panels.  Special tools are used to either pull, push and manipulate the dented area back to normal.

Is all PDR work done from outside the vehicle?

In our experience most dents can be accessed without having to remove interior panels.  Our tooling allows us to access dents from behind without having to remove panels.

If it’s ‘paintless’, what happens if the paint is damaged/scratched?

In these cases we can either repair the dent (but not the paintwork) and leave you with a specialist paint touch up kit matched to your vehicle, or you can visit our bodyshop where we will repair the dent and then have it professionally resprayed.

Do you drill holes to get to dents?

No, we do not!

World class tooling, years of experience and access to an  ‘access point database’ and drawings for most makes/models of vehicles means that we simply don’t need to drill holes in your car to repair dents.

Why use you when I could go to my local garage?

Paintless dent removal is a very skilled job requiring not only extensive training but also very expensive tools. As a result most local garages and franchised dealerships don’t carry out their own PDR work – they call out companies like us.

Because we are specialists, we can do the work quicker and better than general garages.

If you take your vehicle to your local garage, it’s entirely possible that we would end up repairing it and you would never know!

Will you take my car to pieces in order to knock out the dent?

In most cases, we can access and manupulate the dent using specialist tooling and without having to remove any panelling.

In some extreme cases we may need to remove interior door panels (which can be done on site) or remove the roof lining (which would be done in our bodyshop).

Could PDR damage my car?

This is highly unlikely given our skill, experience and training.

What could go wrong?

Very little could go wrong when you use professional tradesmen!

However we have seen examples where dent repair companies have been called out and have either made a dent worse, or damaged wiring within the car’s electrical system as a result of using poor access points and cheap tools.

Rest assured that our technicians are very experienced and, even if anything should go wrong, we are fully insured.

Can you always repair dents 100%?

We need to see the dent in the flesh in order to answer this question – but usually yes we can.

However every dent is different – if we can’t, we can certainly make it significantly better.  In these cases, we will always discuss this with you beforehand.

You operate a mobile service, do you need to be under cover / in a garage?

A garage is always nice, but we are happy to work outside either on a driveway or on the road.

How much does it cost – why are there no prices on the website?

Every dent is different so it’s hard to give even guideline prices without knowing more about the damage.

If you telephone us we will ask you questions about the size / location / nature of the dent and the details of your vehicle and location.  Provided that this information is accurate, we will give you a firm quote on the telephone.

You can also contact us through our website and send us photo/s of the damage.

Bodyshop work for more severe damage/impact requires a more detailed assessment of the damage, so we need to see it before we can give you a firm price.  Call us to arrange a quote.

How long does it take?

Again, it depends on the dent.  Our four different services detail the approximate timescales on each page.

I’ve only got a minor dent but I’d rather bring the car to you – is that OK?

Yes, that is fine – we can arrange for you to drop the car off at our bodyshop.  We will fix the damage and call you when it’s ready for collection.

Is your work guaranteed?

All our work is fully guaranteed, plus our technicians/staff are all fully insured.

Do you need me to wait with you whilst you repair the vehicle?

For mobile repairs, no, but we do need you there before we start work and after we have finished.

For repairs in our bodyshop, we do have a customer waiting area but by definition bodyshop repairs take anything from several hours to several days. Courtesy cars are available, subject to availability.

You say you cover West Yorkshire – can you come out a bit further?

Give us a call – if we are working nearby this may be a possibility.

If you are further afield, please do still give us a call as we have access to a network of other competent dent repair professionals that operate nationwide.

My car is not driveable, can you recover it?

Yes, we can recover your vehicle to our bodyshop for assessment as part of our severe impact repair service.
